Adventures Away from Home 2
UK Youth was delighted to be selected as the delivery partner for the second phase of the Adventures Away from Home Fund (AAfH).
In partnership with the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, the £1.765 million fund provided young people, aged 11-18 – or up to 25 for those with special educational needs and disabilities – with bursaries to take part in outdoor learning, allowing under-represented young people to take part in outdoor learning experiences supporting their personal development through connections with others and nature.
The AAfH fund supported charity and not-for-profit outdoor learning providers in England to deliver outdoor learning experiences as full day sessions and two-night residential stays.
Some 83 outdoor learning providers were awarded money to host outdoor learning experiences, allowing 12,793 young people from 703 youth groups to enjoy fully-funded Adventures Away from Home.
An report evaluating Adventures Away from Home 2 has now been published.
